As shown in the picture, our trampoline is attached to the deck using these round attachment points. That works well, but the problem is that the deck leading to them is very smooth, and it’s easy to slip down the deck a cut your foot.
It’s happened to me, and it just happened to a crew member. I consider this a safety hazard, as I know that it will happen again. The only thing that I’ve come up with is to 3D print some caps to go over the attachment points.
Hi Geoff
Our 500SE uses the same attachment points but the angle of the hull down to the trampoline is very different. It is rounded so you step straight down onto the trampolines and no room for slippage.
So sorry we are not much help.

Two options here …… The quickest is to use a good pair of boat shoes! ……. The second option ) which does not mean that your have to drop the first option! ….. is to make a foam padded cover like they use on gymnastic trampolines ……. I have seen this on some catamarans (Zitara being one of them )
On the same topic but slightly different information, I would like to thank Antione for the great tip which I saw on his 500SE earlier this year in the marina in Knysna which was the use 6mm yacht master braid to secure the trampoline as opposed to two sides of 10mm bungee and two sides of 6 millimeter braid.
This gives the trampoline a far more secure feel under foot and saves the PITA of having to change the bungee annually due to wear as it seldom lasts longer than that!
As a word of caution however if you decide to do this switch from bungee and do not have stainless steel clips on the track I am sure this upgrade will start to break the black plastic clips that the 500 and 500SE originally came with the yacht from the factory.
Antione did not have to change his trampoline clips … I took care of that for future owners of the 500SE about a year after mine was launched when I found an appropriate replacement for the black plastic clips (also made by BG Products in Knysna) … I showed this stainless slider fitting to Grant and then it became standard to the build I think from #94 onwards. Antione’s yacht was way after #94
