I have a 480 2011 48 foot Knysna, “Jewel” Seawater leaked into the forward berth staining the headboard upholstery leaving a water mark. I have tried everything to remove it to no avail. My only option is to remove the headboard and have it repaired or replaced. The only problem is that it seems to be glued, heavily glued to the wall.I wish they used velcro . Has anyone removed this headboard and how did you do it? thanks.
Have you tried using a carpet cleaner and I would also try ethyl alcohol to remove the rings around the water stain.
Our headboards are put in with Velcro just for this reason.
You could also call Carel at the factory and see if he can help you.
We have a 2012 480, hull 69. Our headboards were glued in. It was an awful job to get the out. The best was using fishing line like a saw whilst someone pulled it away from the bulkhead.
Yes the replacements had velcro!
