When I was Knysna earlier this year I went on Antoine’s 500SE and he showed me the fitting of the fireballs that he has put into his engine bays and equipment room. I was most impressed and have installed the same setup on my 500SE … The advantage of these in my view is that they are passive (and will be activated in your absence unlike the fire extinguishers fitted on the 500SE and they will not damage the equipment and engines to the same extent (but as per Geoff’s point they need to get to a pretty high temp before they will activate. But IMHO they are well worth the price as I picked up 3 at Cleopatra Marina at EURO 32 each. and it literally takes 5 minutes to install. Interesting that when I went to get my extinguishers serviced in Preveza last month the technician and owner there was categoric that they are NOT a replacement for fire extinguishers (and he sold the fireballs !! ) I am inclined to agree with that advice based on further research … Be wary of some of the BS that gets spun out of AI 
There are now plenty of companies that make these fireballs and there are some interesting videos on YouTube on them as well.
