To save power we are only turning on and off the inverters when we need them. I know I can set up a rocker switch to turn them off from a more convenient location. But from the CZone manual I see that you can also add a button to the CZone display to integrate some signals to the MasterVolt to turn them on and off. The manual specifies that you have to have a MasterBus interface(MBI). Not sure what this but assume our recent boats have this as I can see the values (input/output) from the inverters.
Has anything done this? I’m not seeing a MasterVolt tab in the CZone Configuration tool to do any configuration, nor do I see anything in the MasterAdjust application.
Thank you Pete. Unfortunately she is only showing how to use the CZone that was probably configured for her at the dealer. I know how to configure it and set monitors/etc. I’m just not setting how to configure the MasterVolt in the CZone Configuration Tool per the documents.
But it does shows that you can do it in the video so will keep researching knowing that it can be done.
Sorry my reply didn’t answer your question, I meant to mention that the video didn’t show how to set it up, just that it can be done. If you don’t have a PC with the needed software, you may need to consult a Mastervolt dealer.
Seems pretty straight forward within the docs, but with so many projects going to splash, it’s hard to dedicate time to the “nice to have” which this will need. Thanks Pete for the verification that it can be done and I’m not diving into a rabbit hole😀
I no longer have Mastervolt so I’m working from memory…
I think there are two ways to setup the Mastervolt network - pure Mastervolt - or - CZone. I think KYC sets the MasterVolt network up as MasterVolt then bridges data from it to CZone. This will no doubt have a bearing on any configuration via CZone.
I did briefly consider trying to get the MasterVolt devices setup via CZone to make them available on the CZone screen etc - but got to the point where I thought the risk was too high if it didn’t go well.
I did finally get the CZone to control two of my inverters as they had the ability to be turned off with MasterAdjust software. Now I just go to the CZone to turn them on and off. I would have documented the process but there was a lot of back and forth talk with ChatGBT over several days. I am sure Claude would do better. If anyone wants to try to get it to work with CZone, I am sure I can offer some pointers once I get back to the boat in September.
